The correlation between male perpetrators and social services: impact in reducing family violence rates in Western Melbourne

Thesis title

The correlation between male perpetrators and social services: impact in reducing family violence rates in Western Melbourne

Description of PhD Project

This research project considers family violence in Australia, a pressing health and welfare issue, with a focus on Western Melbourne. It examines the role of social services as an early mitigation where there is risk of violence by male perpetrators against women.

The study intersects with social services' initiatives to promote gender equality and foster opportunities for men to develop positive, respectful, and healthy relationships with women. By investigating the role of social services in influencing men's behaviour, this project hopes to contribute valuable insights into how interventions can be structured to enhance the safety and respect of women.

It is anticipated that the findings can contribute to the broader discourse on family violence, offering a nuanced understanding of the dynamics between male perpetrators and the potential transformative impact of social services.
