Dr Juan-Pablo (JP) Villanueva-Cabezas

JP Villanueva‐Cabezas is an epidemiologist with a background in veterinary medicine. JP uses different study designs to research causal associations, and he employs a range of analytical tools to investigate animal and human populations’ disease dynamics.
Since obtaining his PhD in 2019, JP has been actively involved in national and international responses to pandemic events of animals and humans, working in collaboration with local government and international agencies. JP has a strong interest in developing One Health system approaches to investigate emerging health issues of the animal‐human interface, and their implications for livelihood.
JP is actively involved in One Health curriculum development and instruction at the University of Melbourne, and frequently engage with audiences beyond academia.
