Community Climate Health Amongst Livestock Keepers in Kyrgyzstan

Project Details

In regions like Central Asia where livestock farming is fundamental to livelihoods, climate change poses a major threat to community health and wellbeing.

We are using One Health approaches to study the impacts of climate change on human health within livestock-keeping communities in Kyrgyzstan, Central Asia.  We will conduct research in communities across the country, deliver training on One Health and climate change, and link communities to regional and national policymakers.

Our research findings will inform policies and actions to strengthen health and livelihood resilience nationally and regionally, through links to key regional initiatives such as the Central Asia One Health Regional Framework for Action (supported by World Bank) and other strategies. Our evidence will be relevant to pastoral communities worldwide.
