Mary Stathopoulos

Research Assistant

Mary is a qualitative researcher with experience in sexual violence research. She has conducted research on how to engage men in primary prevention, immigrant and refugee women’s service needs post-settlement period, as well as managed research on victim/survivor justice responses and reforms in criminal court practice. She has also conducted research for the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse interviewing adult survivors of childhood institutional abuse and their families about disclosures of abuse, and pathways to support services.

Mary is with the Gender and Women's Health unit working on the Sharing Wisdom project which is exploring what counts as success for multicultural community services as part of a coordinated response to family violence. She is also conducting a scoping study of health-related co-design initiatives across the University of Melbourne for MISCH.
