KONEKSI Policy Uptake Case Studies Indonesia
Project Details
Evidence-based policy and decision making is critical to advance efforts to address the impacts of climate change in Indonesia. This requires not only the production of appropriate knowledge, but its acceptance and uptake by relevant policymakers to guide policymaking.
KONEKSI is a collaborative initiative in the knowledge and innovation sector that supports partnerships between Australian and Indonesian organisations for inclusive and sustainable policy and technology. Supported by the Governments of Australia and Indonesia, the Program promotes equitable knowledge partnerships and leveraging local knowledge to address socio-economic challenges
This project will explore how KONEKSI’s knowledge partnerships and stakeholder engagement strategies contribute to evidence-based policy and practice in its environment and climate change projects (ECC) projects in Indonesia. Drawing on detailed case studies, it will highlight the processes researcher and government engagement to identify lessons that can improve the uptake of research in policy development and implementation.
This study will help inform future efforts to improve knowledge translation and evidence-based policy making in Indonesia.
