Addressing the unequitable distribution of economic benefits of vaccines across countries
Project Details
In contrast to high-income countries, low- and middle-income countries are falling behind to achieve and maintain high vaccination coverage. This is particularly the case for new vaccines that remain financially out of reach for these countries, despite bearing the heaviest burden of diseases. We aim to quantify the value of economic benefits of vaccines and explore how these benefits are distributed across countries by income level. Additionally, we are investigating the impact of different pricing strategies to enhance the affordability of vaccines and promote equitable distribution of their economic benefits.
Overall, our project aims to provide relevant evidence to inform a global pricing policy that ensures the widespread adoption and high equitable coverage of vaccines, leaving no country behind.
