Corporometer: building a corporate political influence measurement tool (2024-25)

Project Details

Corporate lobbying and political donations are linked to policy inertia on reducing alcohol, gambling and tobacco harm. Right now, corporate political influence is hard to see. An important step towards decreasing corporate influence over governments is to make it more visible. This project pilots data science tools and methods to systematically access and analyse corporate political activities using a case study of the alcohol industry’s influence on mandatory pregnancy warning labels.
