Thesis Title

Partnering the community to co-design comprehensive abortion care in Melbourne’s North.

Description of PhD project

Equitable access to abortion care is a fundamental component of sexual and reproductive health. Due to the sensitive nature of abortion care and potential vulnerability of the individuals who access these services, it is important that the needs of consumers are understood and prioritised to promote empowerment and optimise patient experience. However, there has been very little research partnering with women/consumers in this space.

This PhD project aims to develop a revised model of abortion care in partnership with consumers, providers and community stakeholders, that is tailored to consumers’ needs, optimises care, promotes equitable access and can cater to growing demand.
