Research Focus: One Health; Animal Health and production; Livestock and climate
Max Barot is an experienced livestock veterinarian specialising in international animal health and One Health.
He has played a significant role in major One Health initiatives across the Asia-Pacific, including recent projects in the Mekong and Pacific regions. This work has included advancing governance and economic frameworks for One Health, such as the development of integrated, multisectoral business models.
Max also brings expertise in sustainable livestock production systems and nature-based solutions, with a strong understanding of how livestock farming can be adapted to different environments in ways that promote ecosystem health and long-term resilience. He has led risk assessments, developed surveillance plans, coordinated outbreak responses, and delivered training across online, classroom, and field-based settings in culturally diverse contexts throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
