Jess Kirwan

Research Focus: Gender-based violence; Gender inclusion; Health equity & inclusion
Jess Kirwan is a research assistant in the Gender and Women’s Health Unit, and the Methods and Implementation Support for Clinical and Health (MISCH) Research Hub. She has a Master of Public Health and Master of Social Work and has worked on a range of research and evaluation projects relating to gender-based violence. Jess has a background in social work in the specialist family violence sector and experience providing trauma-informed support to victim/survivors of family violence and sexual assault.
Jess is dedicated to advancing social and health equity, with a particular interest in how overlapping forms of inequality influence experiences of gender-based violence and impact the success of prevention and response efforts.
