Elenor Kerr

Research Focus: Infectious diseases; One Health; Antimicrobial Resistance
Elenor is an epidemiologist with a specialisation in applied epidemiology, communicable disease control and has a background in international development. Elenor holds a Master of Public Health from the University of Melbourne and is a graduate of Australia’s Field Epidemiology Training Program (MAE).
She has extensive experience in infectious disease epidemiology and research at local and state levels and in the global health space and has a particular interest in disease surveillance systems and outbreak investigation and response. Recent published investigations include a national outbreak of Salmonella and rapid expansion of a Neisseria gonorrhoeae clone with antimicrobial resistance in New South Wales.
Elenor was an ASEAN-Australian Health Security fellow 2019–2020 where she undertook pandemic response activities and conducted infectious disease research and analyses in Cambodia, Papua New Guinea, and Myanmar. Prior to training as an epidemiologist, Elenor worked for several years supporting or working within Pacific and Southeast Asia regional programs focused on providing maternal health and/or family planning services.
