Jess Kirwan

Research Assistant

Jess Kirwan is interested in the ways in which intersecting inequalities shape experiences of gender-based violence and the effectiveness of violence prevention and response initiatives. Jess has a background in social work in the specialist family violence sector and experience providing trauma-informed support to victim/survivors of family violence and sexual assault.

She is currently supporting a range of gender-based violence research projects including the kNOwVAWdata program that aims to build research capacity in low- and middle-income countries, and research focussing on technology-facilitated gender-based violence in Asia and the Pacific.

Jess is currently completing her Master of Public Health with a focus on gender and women’s health.
