Julia Hofkes

Research Support

Julia is working on a research project about biomarker tests in prostate cancer with the Cancer Health Services Research team. She is conducting a scoping literature review to assess cost-effectiveness and clinical utility evidence for the use of biomarker tests in localized prostate cancer. She enjoys the opportunity to learn from her colleagues and develop her research skills.

Julia is combining her research project with studying a Master of Public Health at the University of Melbourne where she specializes in infectious diseases and global health. Prior to the Master of Public Health, she obtained a bachelor’s degree in medicine at the University of Leiden (Leiden University Medical Center) in the Netherlands.

When she is not working on her research or studying, you can find Julia in one of Melbourne’s many cafe’s enjoying a flat white and a good book, hanging upside down in her Aerial Acrobatics class or in her kitchen cooking and baking.
