ASEAN UK Health Security Partnership project
Project Details
The ASEAN-UK Health Security Partnership (HSP) is a major new 5-year programme supporting ASEAN Member States, and Timor-Leste and their partners, to strengthen health security, build resilient health systems, and address the impacts of climate change on health across the region.
HSP aims to enhance the capacity for prevention, detection, and response to health threats in the ASEAN region and its 10 Member States plus Timor-Leste, thereby contributing to strengthened regional and national global health security.
HSP focuses on three priority outcomes:
- strengthened preparedness and response to health emergencies
- improved health system resilience and equitable access to care
- better understanding and improved action to address health impacts of climate change.
HSP’s key initiatives include: (a) a grant facility for ASEAN health entities and ASEAN member states, and (b) a peer exchange platform to facilitate the transfer of knowledge, technology and other expertise between ASEAN member states and/or UK or global South entities.
The project is led by a consortia led by Family Health International (FHI), Pandemic Institute and Itad. The Nossal Institute is collaborating closely with Itad to design and deliver HSP’s Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning Strategy, which is led by Itad.
