Partnerships for a Healthy Region Initiative
Project Details
Nossal is providing gender equality, disability and social inclusion (GEDSI) and water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) expertise to the Doherty Institute under the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s (DFAT) Partnerships for a Healthy Region investment. In partnership with DFAT’s Indo-Pacific Centre for Health Security, the Doherty Institute will be working to strengthen health systems to prepare for, and respond to, infectious diseases across Southeast Asia and the Pacific.
Core components of the work include laboratory strengthening, workforce development, data for decision making and global emergency preparedness with cross cutting priorities of GEDSI and climate resilience .
Under the partnership with the Doherty Institute, Nossal will provide technical assistance to support the delivery of the following priority areas:
- Gender, disability and social inclusion across all work areas
- Water, sanitation and hygiene under the theme of infection prevention and control.
