Tahlia Eastman

Tahlia Eastman is a Research Fellow and PhD candidate in the Indigenous Studies Unit, where she is exploring transgenerational passing from an Indigenous perspective. Tahlia located her PhD fieldwork in Tasmania where her Aboriginal family is from, and focuses on strengthening identity, and contributing to better health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Tahlia recently completed a post-graduate thesis with first-class Honours at the University of Melbourne on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander identity politics. As a Research Fellow in the Indigenous Studies Unit, Tahlia has been investigating family violence policy, service delivery, and legal assistance for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women experiencing family violence and is also part of the team working on the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Curricula Project. Tahlia is also commencing work on the Closing the Gap Data Project and previously worked in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Policy as a Research Adviser at the Lowitja Institute, playing a vital role as key researcher on multiple projects.
