Navigation Hub
Welcome to the NEW navigation hub.
We have set this up as a “one-stop shop” for all those wanting to enable patients to more easily and more effectively navigate health and related systems (such as disability, aged care). This is a learning health space to share and leverage existing materials and work together to develop solutions. If you have documents or videos that you’d like to see or have uploaded please email Siân Slade at navigating-health@unimelb.edu.au
Consumer and advocacy resources
-
The Charter describes rights that consumers, or someone they care for, can expect when receiving health care. These rights apply to all people in all places where health care is provided in Australia. This includes public and private hospitals, day procedure services, general practice and other community health services.
-
Leaders of a health service organisation develop, implement and maintain systems to partner with consumers. These partnerships relate to the planning, design, delivery, measurement and evaluation of care. The workforce uses these systems to partner with consumers.

The Australian Commission for Safety and Quality in Health Care have developed the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards User guide for the health care of people with intellectual disability in response to significant evidence of poor health outcomes for people with intellectual disability in Australia’s health system.
