Upskilling for mobile data collection in Myanmar

With international travel being limited by COVID-19 for the foreseeable future, scientists in Australia and Myanmar have collaborated to design tailored data collection training program for remote delivery.

Team from Nossal are delivering virtual training for local staff to use a mobile data collection tool, in partnership with in-country partners and CSRIO. The training will upskill local staff on using CommCare by Dimagi, a new software which enables frontline workers to collect field data on Android smart phones and tablets. The course will develop skills in mobile data recording and analysis with the end goal of improving engagement and outreach with smallholder farmers.

This training activity is part of a wider project funded by ACIAR that aims to improve the livelihoods of livestock farmers in the Central dry zone of Myanmar.
