Shazra Abbas

PhD Candidate


Shazra is an OB/GYN and Master of Public Health graduate from the University of Melbourne with five years of clinical experience and eight years of public health work experience.

As part of the National AIDS Control Program in Pakistan, UNICEF, and later the Ministry of Health Saudi Arabia,  Shazra is actively involved in research projects and contributed towards developing healthcare initiatives for at-risk populations such as people living with HIV and TB, street children, and sex workers.

Shazra's PhD project, which is close to submission, examines health system gaps in low-middle income countries impeding these countries’ efforts to achieving their health targets.
