Mr Patrick Abraham flew to Jakarta to attend a 3-day project launch meeting for the SCOPE project.
From the 12th – 14th of June, Mr Patrick Abraham flew to Jakarta to attend a 3-day project launch meeting for the SCOPE project (Short COurse PrimaquinE for the radical cure of P. vivax), led by the Menzies School of Health Research. The project is an implementation study in Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, which aims to improve adherence to primaquine, and thus reduce relapse of vivax malaria. The meetings were attended by the Indonesian study team and The Ministry of Health Indonesia, with the focus being the feasibility of launching the implementation of the study. The trip was extremely productive, and enjoyed by all, with many of the team meeting in-person for the first time, after years of online meetings. Patrick is excited for the continued success of this project, and the importance of this research in his PhD.
