From Research to Public Health Policy Making; a case of including the Rotavirus Vaccine in the National Immunisation Program

A seminar titled “From Research to Public Health Policy Making; a case of including the Rotavirus Vaccine in the National Immunisation Program” was held on 3rd August 2023 by Professor Dr Arthorn Riewpaiboon, a professor of Pharmacoeconomics at the Division of Social and Administrative Pharmacy, Faculty of Pharmacy, Mahidol University, Thailand.

It was fantastic to hear and learn from a very long series of health economic research conducted over a period of 10 years to provide relevant evidence to inform the public health policymaking leading to the vaccine introduction of the Rotavirus vaccine into the National Immunisation program in Thailand. All the research series were conducted in a collaboration between the Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health, and Faculty of Pharmacy Mahidol University, Thailand.

Overall, the presentation highlighted the ‘lessons learned’ drawing from the experience of collaborating with academics and public health administrators.
