Kim Dalziel

Professor Kim Dalziel, head of the Child Health Economics Unit within the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health (MSPGH) is spending 2024 as a Visiting Professor at the University of Michigan. She is based at the Susan B. Meister Child Health Evaluation and Research Centre (CHEAR) which is one of the most prominent paediatric health services research institutions in the United States. Kim previously spent 2017/17 at CHEAR as a Harkness Fellow in Health Care Practice and Policy with the Commonwealth Fund.

The Visiting Professor opportunity at the University of Michigan affords Kim unique opportunities to advance her research established as an investigator within the Quality of Life in Kids QUOKAA Research Program. While at CHEAR Kim will be collaborating and further building her program of research in child HRQoL including advancing validation, valuation, and use of the PedsUtil short form of the PedsQL for use in economic evaluation and consideration of carer/family health-related quality of life impacts for children with serious ongoing health conditions. Kim is looking forward to obtaining a greater understanding the research occurring at CHEAR, and expanding on research ideas for the Australian context. During her time in the US she will be presenting at key US conferences and visiting other paediatric health services research groups to learn and share her research.
