Master of Health Policy and Management, Universitas Gadjah Mada and Master of Public Health, University of Melbourne
This two-year double degree program equips future health leaders with advanced training in health policy and management and valuable international academic exposure. Graduates earn both the Master of Health Policy and Management from Universitas Gadjah Mada and the Master of Public Health from the University of Melbourne.
Students begin their journey with the first semester at Universitas Gadjah Mada, followed by two semesters at the University of Melbourne, and return to Universitas Gadjah Mada to complete their final capstone semester.
Eligibility
To be considered for entry into this double degree, you must:
- Have completed an undergraduate professional health degree from an accredited institution
- Meet the minimum entry score for both institutions:
- UGM: Min. GPA 3.50/4.00
- UoM: Min. Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of at least 65% (or equivalent)
- Meet the English language requirements for both UGM and the UoM
- A minimum score on one of the following tests in the past 2 years:
- IELTS: 6.5 overall, no band below 6.0
- TOEFL iBT: 81 (Writing & Speaking: 19;
- Reading & Listening: 16)
- A minimum score on one of the following tests in the past 2 years:
- Pass the Aptitude Test (UGM requirement)
- A minimum score of ≥ 575 on any one of the following aptitude tests: PAPs UGM, TPDA PLTI, TPA BAPPENAS completed in last 2 years
- Recommendation letters
- UGM: Two recommendation letters (academic or professional) submitted through the online platform
- UoM: CV must include details of two referees
- Other Required Documents
- Statement of Purpose (UGM requirement)
- Research Proposal (UGM requirement)
- Scholarship/Sponsorship documents (if applicable)
- Recommendation letter issued by UGM (after acceptance) for submission to the University of Melbourne
Fees and Scholarships
This double degree is eligible for full LPDP funding (Regular, Targeted, Affirmative) and Partial scholarship schemes. Applicants intending to apply for LPDP are welcome and encouraged to do so. Refer to LPDP guideline for exact dates and requirements.

How to Apply
Step 1: Apply to the Master of Health Policy and Management at Universitas Gadjah Mada in either Batch 1: January or Batch 2: July.
Step 2: If you receive an offer from Universitas Gadjah Mada, apply to the Master of Public Health at the University of Melbourne including your recommendation letter issued by UGM
Step 3: Apply for LPDP funding using the offers from both UGM and UoM. Applicants must obtain offers from both programs before applying. Please refer to the LPDP guidelines for exact dates and requirements.
Structure
This Double Degree is to be completed in four semesters (two years) and commences at Universitas Gadjah Mada during the Semester 1 (August) intake. On completion of their final semester at Universitas Gadjah Mada students will be awarded both degrees – The Master of Health Policy and Management from Universitas Gadjah Mada and the Master of Public Health from the University of Melbourne.
Semester 1 (August) - Universitas Gadjah Mada Student completes all of the following four subjects:
- Health Financing
- Health Informatics and Digital Transformation
- Health Service Policy and Management
- Epidemiology
Semester 2 (February) - University of Melbourne
Student completes all of the following four subjects:
- POPH90217 Foundations of Public Health (12.5 points)
- POPH90231 Qualitative Research in Public Health (12.5 points)
- POPH90218 Public Health Leadership and Policy (12.5 points)
AND one elective subject from the following list:
