ALIVE: A national mental health research translation centre: Prevention across the Life Course

Project Details

Researchers at the Population Mental Health Unit undertake several research projects in partnership with the ALIVE National Centre for Mental Health Research Translation.

Prof. Nicola Reavley leads the Live4Life co-evaluation, a flagship project of the ALIVE National Centre for Mental Health Research Translation program on prevention across the life course. The Live4Life co-evaluation is a multi-community, multi-year external research partnership with Youth Live4Life, a health promotion charity which implements the Live4Life model, the only youth mental health promotion and suicide prevention program specifically tailored to rural and regional settings.

The co-evaluation measures the extent to which Live4Life protects and promotes mental health and wellbeing in secondary school-aged young people in rural and regional Victorian communities, as well as exploring what aspects of implementation contribute to mental health and wellbeing outcomes. This research is closely linked to the Catching up with the Crew research study.

Researchers at the Population Mental Health Unit also undertake knowledge translation of key findings relating to prevention of mental health challenges, aligned with ALIVE’s priorities.
