The Survivor – Using social media to tell stories of hope following a suicidal crisis

Project Details

In the Survivor Project we are co-designing and -developing with people with lived experience of suicide a suicide prevention social media campaign. The campaign will centre around six short videos of people with lived experience of suicide telling their stories of finding hope for the future. The aim of this campaign is to reach people who are considering suicide and encouraging them to find some hope.

In this four-stage project, we are:

  1. Co-designing the campaign with an advertising company (the Hallway) and people with lived experience of suicide (Roses in the Ocean)
  2. Filming six videos of people with lived experience telling stories of finding hope to continue living during a suicidal crisis
  3. Testing the videos will more people with lived experience, and mental health and suicide prevention professionals
  4. Releasing the videos onto social media using the broader co-designed campaign.
