Impact of macroeconomic factors on suicide in Australia

Project Details

COVID-19 pandemic had a substantial impact on global economy and widened inequality within and between countries. This study aims to examine the impact of a range of macroeconomic factors (e.g., housing loan interest rates, unemployment rates, Consumer Price Index, gross domestic product, and the Consumer Sentiment Index) on suicide in Australia. The findings of this study will inform upstream interventions to prevent suicide.
