Better identifying and characterising suicide hotspots

Project Details

Dr Too was awarded a NHMRC fellowship. The project involves using novel statistical techniques to systematically identify and characterise frequently used suicide locations in Australia. The project aligns with the commitment of the Australian Federal Government to avert suicides at frequently used locations in Australia, given there is now good evidence for interventions that can prevent suicide at these locations.

The findings of this project are directly translatable to policy and practice, as it will be used to improve the design of suicide prevention interventions and inform the Australian Federal Government where to focus their efforts to more effectively reduce the number of suicides.
