Ready to Screen: targeting the high-risk population to improve lung cancer diagnosis

Project Details

The third phase of ‘Ready to Screen’ is a two-arm cluster-randomised implementation trial which will test whether specific recruitment strategies are more effective at engaging people in primary care setting to take up lung cancer screening. The ‘Ready to Screen’ trial will specifically measure if the strategies and resources provided impact on people’s intention to screen for lung cancer once the national program commences, and assess the cost effectiveness of implementing these strategies in primary care settings. The trial incorporates both the FHT validated algorithm (linked) to identify patient cohorts in addition to the co-designed informational resources (linked) to engage patients. The trial is currently recruiting primary care practices and will be conducted prior to the roll out of the National program on July 1 2025.Study design
