Ready to Screen: Co-designing strategies and resources to promote participation in lung cancer screening
Project Details
‘Ready to Screen’ is a multi-arm research project aiming to optimise the implementation of lung cancer screening in Australian primary care practices.
The first arm of this project involved co-designing a suite of promotional resources and implementation strategies with community members from the screening-eligible population. Led by A/Prof Nicole Rankin, Dr. Shakira Onwuka and Sarah York, six co-design and pilot-testing workshops were held with community members in metro and regional Victoria and New South Wales to develop, refine and test key resources including an informational brochure, poster, website and social media video. The co-designed resources have now been translated into seven community languages for use in a national cluster-randomised invitation trial to assess the intention to screen of potentially eligible participants of the National Lung Cancer Screening Program.
