Introducing Mitochondrial Donation into Australia: The MitoHOPE (Healthy Outcomes Pilot and Evaluation) Program

Project Details

The mitoHOPE (Healthy Outcomes Pilot and Evaluation) program is an Australian-wide mitochondrial donation and reproductive options program designed to safely meet the needs of women who are at risk of having a child with mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) disease. Health implementation and economics research will provide a comprehensive analysis of the feasibility of Mitodonation in clinical practice. We will utilise health economics methodologies in this project to evaluate the diagnostic, referral and care pathways to ensure the model of care meets the highest standards.
