Strengthen the role of health economics in perinatal health to inform priority setting and funding decisions

Project Details

The perinatal period is critical for building up long term and lifetime health of children and has been viewed as a key window for public health and clinical intervention to achieve the maximum health benefits of the next generation. However, there is currently a lack of economic evaluation methods development in perinatal health, thereby preventing us from adequately demonstrating the value of prevention in this area.

The aim of this NHMRC Investigator grant is to improve methods around how we capture cost, quality of life and longer-term outcomes in the field of perinatal health, especially for children born prematurely.
