CURE-NG: Exploring community and expert perceptions of the acceptability of research that involves infecting the participant's throat with Neisseria gonorrhoeae

Project Details

This study will use focus groups and interviews with community members, and interviews with experts and key stakeholders to explore the acceptability of the establishment of an oropharyngeal controlled human infection model in Victoria.

This study aims to:

  • Explore the perceptions of community members, experts and key stakeholders regarding the development of an oropharyngeal controlled human infection model
  • Determine the barriers and enablers to potential future participants taking part in an oropharyngeal controlled human infection model
  • Determine community preferences regarding key features of oropharyngeal controlled human infection model clinical trial design.
