Teaching & Learning
Research Overview
The Centre of Epidemiology and Biostatistics Teaching and Learning in is dedicated to advancing the education and training of future epidemiologists, biostatisticians and health communicators. We focus on developing innovative curricula, implementing effective teaching strategies, and fostering a dynamic learning environment for students passionate about public health. Our unit collaborates with experienced faculty to design courses that blend theoretical knowledge with practical skills, ensuring students are well-prepared for real-world challenges. We emphasise hands-on experience through case studies, data analysis projects, and field work opportunities. We also prioritise the integration of cutting-edge research methodologies and technologies into our teaching, keeping our students at the forefront of epidemiological practices. Our goal is to cultivate critical thinking, research proficiency, and ethical decision-making skills essential for addressing complex health issues on local and global scales. Within the Unit we also undertake research on university student mental health and optimising learning and enhancing the learning of epidemiology and biostatistics
