Honorary Senior Fellow, Melbourne School of Population and Global Health
The focus on community resilience has largely been on how it is organised (eg. suggested by social network analysis) or individually experienced (eg. psychological sense of community). This presentation on traumatised community is based on a new psychology of community that considers how it might function as a whole. It will discuss the mechanism of collective trauma and regression, in context of large group psychology, and also the notion of culture as the collective/group mind, especially its unconscious dimension.
