Gathering the Seeds Symposium - April 2023
In April 2023 the Replanting the Birthing Trees team, along with service providers, allied health professionals, community Elders and families gathered in Whadjuk Boodjar (Perth) for the inaugural Gathering the Seeds Symposium.
The event sought to share the progress of the RBT project so far and explore ways we can work together to drive health system reform to transform cycles of intergenerational trauma and ensure that all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander babies have the best possible start in life. Community Workshops:
Wise Counsel Service Provider Co-Design Workshop Report - February 2024
This Workshop is one of a series of co-design Workshops for the RBT project. Although the
SAFeST Start Coalition has completed extensive work over several years (Figure 1), this is
the first Workshop exclusively dedicated to discusssing a Wise Counsel model. The aims of
the Workshop were to:
- Share and discuss what is already known about integrated models of care for women,
and families who are at risk of child protection involvement in the perinatal period, - Refine the aims, objectives, and core components of a Wise Counsel model,
- To identify barriers and anticipated challenges, as well as facilitators and enablers; and
finally, - To discuss practical implementation and evaluation of the model.
