About the artwork
Relighting the Firesticks
This artwork represents the journey of the firesticks and how they represent the shared learning and strengths of our Communities
Firestick burning is filled with knowledge gathered, a shared learning and promotion of innovative ways of working led by Community.
The strong people standing represents our Community-controlled sector. They are central and key elements of transformation. Surrounding them are symbols that represent traditional ways, birthing trees and the role women play in birthing and caring for families. On their cloaks are designs that represent Culture and resources and the need to develop tools for the sector that would support our families.
The hand with the line work and circles represents having an understanding and hand on what works for our Community when understanding intergenerational trauma.
