Replanting the Birthing Trees Seminar

Ngangk Yira Institute for Change, Murdoch University - Replanting the Birthing Trees Seminar

This seminar was presented by Professors Catherine Chamberlain (University of Melbourne) and Rhonda Marriott (Murdoch University). The purpose is to introduce the Replanting the Birthing Trees project, funded by the Australian Governments Medical Research Future Fund. Replanting the Birthing Trees brings together a large group of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and non-Indigenous investigators (48+) all with expertise in maternal and infant health, to work collaboratively. They will consolidate a wealth of evidence into practical actions and develop a comprehensive resource repository for community members and health professionals. Using Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander ways of knowing, being and doing and Wise Counsel guidance, this five year program of work aims to significantly impact how maternal and infant health care is provided to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women everywhere. This video was recorded on 19 August 2022 at the Ngangk Yira Institute for Change, Murdoch University, Western Australia.
