Seminar - Bridget Pratt Research Fellow
How can we strengthen the ‘ethics’ in health systems research?
Wednesday 9th August 2017
12.30- 1.30pm
Nossal Institute for Global Health, Arole Room, Level 5, 333 Exhibiton Street, Melbourne
Health systems research ethics is a relatively new and emerging field. Bridget will, first, provide an overview of the current state of knowledge in the field, based upon a scoping review of the health systems research ethics literature she co-led for the Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research. She will then introduce her current work, which focuses on the ethics of engaging citizens when setting priorities for health systems research. That work characterises the ethical considerations to take into account when designing citizen engagement processes in order to mitigate power disparities and represent diversity in research priority-setting.
