Nossal PhD Confirmation Seminar - Tiara Marthias
Analyzing and Potential Solutions for Geographical Inequality in Maternal Health Care Utilization in Indonesia
Tiara Marthias will present her PhD confirmation seminar at the Nossal Institute, Arole Conference Room on July 4th. Tiara has collected interesting information on maternal health care utilization in Indonesia, where maternal, neonatal and child mortalities remain high. New initiatives, including the National Health Insurance scheme, have helped to improve access to care, while in-need populations are still not using services optimally. Using national and longitudinal datasets, Tiara uses the decomposition methods the realist synthesis approach to assess the contributing factors in maternal health inequality. Tiara completed her medical degree from Universitas Gadjah Mada and Master in Public Health from University of Melbourne.
