New book on Community Health and Development Programmes in LMICs

Setting Up Community Health and Development Programmes in Low and Middle-Income Settings, Fourth Edition, 2019, Edited by Ted Lankester and Nathan J. Grills

This book is a guide for how to start, develop, and maintain a development programme in low and middle income areas of the world. It outlines how the majority of people who are living in rural areas and urban slums still have very limited access to health care.

One of its goals is to see a decrease in inequality and inequity, which remain serious global health issues, by equipping stakeholders to empower communities to identify and solve their own problems. This book also aims to assist academics, policy makers, planners and students to understand the realities of field-based development and progress.
