Dr Kim Dalziel awarded Harkness Fellowship
Dr Kim Dalziel, Senior Research Fellow from the Health Economics Unit in the Centre for Health Policy, has been awarded the Harkness Fellowship by the Commonwealth Fund.
The fellowship, which is highly sought after, affords promising mid-career professionals a unique opportunity to spend up to 12 months in the United States as a Harkness Fellow in Health Care Policy and Practice. Fellows work with leading US experts to study health care delivery reforms and critical issues on the health policy agenda in both the US and Australia.
Kim will be primarily based at the Child Health Evaluation and Research Centre at the University of Michigan, and will study how the health system supports children with special health care needs and how government can use private health insurance to achieve equity and efficiency objectives.
She will be further supported by home country mentors Mark Booth, First Assistant Secretary, the Department of Health, Strategic Policy and Innovation and Professor Philip Clarke, Centre for Health Policy.
