Abstract: Cervical cancer is preventable, and Australia is “on track” for elimination by 2035. Yet it continues to disproportionately impact Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Australia's Elimination agenda calls for innovative models of screening through the availability of HPV-based self-collection in the National Cervical Screening Program (NCSP). This thesis explores the implementation of cervical screening led by the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Worker-Practitioner Workforce and Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services. Findings directly support current policy objectives to accelerate equitable cervical cancer elimination for all.
