Dr Marie-Anne Boujaoude, Research Fellow in the Global Health and Infectious Diseases Unit within Melbourne Health Economics, has been selected for the 2027 cohort of the Atlantic Fellows for Health Equity.

The fellowship brings together 15 emerging leaders from eight countries whose work spans health economics, medicine, public health, disability inclusion and other areas of health and social policy. The one-year program combines in-person and virtual learning, mentoring and collaboration to strengthen fellows’ capacity to address health inequities in their communities.

Marie-Anne’s research focuses on incorporating equity into health technology assessment and economic evaluation, with particular emphasis on understanding who benefits from health policies and interventions and who may be left behind. Her work includes developing and applying methods to measure the distribution of health outcomes across socioeconomic, geographic and population groups.

Through the fellowship, Marie-Anne will further develop practical approaches to support the inclusion of equity in health decision-making across the Asia-Pacific region. She will also join a global network of more than 1,000 Atlantic Fellows working to build fairer and healthier societies.

The 2027 cohort is the tenth cohort of the Atlantic Fellows for Health Equity program, which is based at the Fitzhugh Mullan Institute for Health Workforce Equity at the George Washington University Milken Institute School of Public Health.
