Welcome Rabiah Al Adawiyah

We’re excited to welcome Rabiah Al Adawiyah as the newest Research Fellow in the Economics of Global Health and Infectious Diseases Unit.
Rabiah's current work focuses on developing a multi-species malaria model to investigate the health impact and cost-effectiveness of different policy decisions on malaria interventions across species.
She is a qualified medical doctor and holds a PhD from UNSW, where her doctoral research focused on the integration and scale-up of antenatal HIV and syphilis testing within the Indonesian health system. She has also worked with the Melbourne Sexual Health Centre, where she evaluated the cost-effectiveness of resistance-guided therapy for Mycoplasma genitalium in Australia. In parallel to her academic role, she also serves as a Senior Health Economist with the Western NSW Local Health District, contributing to applied health economics research and evaluation in regional Australia.
Her broader research interests include economic evaluation and health systems strengthening in infectious diseases. In her previous role with the Asian Development Bank, she supported cross-border health security efforts among Developing Member Countries in Southeast Asia through the SECURE project.
