Bio: Renee is a PhD student with Melbourne Health Economics, her research is focused on child health related quality of life (HRQoL) measures and their use in clinical settings as paediatric patient reported outcome measures (P-PROMs).
Prior to starting her PhD, Renee completed a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Public Health, both at The University of Melbourne. Additionally, Renee worked for several years with the Health Services and Economics group at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute.
Abstract: Paediatric patient reported outcome measures (P-PROMs) capture a child's perspective on their overall health and quality-of-life, holding potential for informing policymakers on beneficial treatments and enabling child-centered care delivery. However, a lack of evidence on which P-PROMs to use, and how to implement them in clinical care, hinders their potential. This PhD advances the evidence base by comparing the psychometric performance of common P-PROMs in Australian children and providing clarity on implementing P-PROMs in paediatric care, assessing their subsequent impact.
