Title: Evaluating the implementation of universal access to self-collection in Victoria: a solution to increasing participation and equity in the National Cervical Screening Program?

Bio: Nicola Creagh (BAdSc, MPH) is a pre-doctoral researcher in her Iinal months of her PhD at the Centre for Health Policy, Melbourne School of Population and Global Health, University of Melbourne. Her research in evaluation and implementation science focuses on increasing equity and participation in Australia's national cancer screening programs, with a significant focus on cervical cancer.

Abstract: In July 2022, Australia’s National Cervical Screening Program underwent a significant policy change allowing all eligible women and people with a cervix the universal choice of a self-collected test. While this change has the potential to increase participation and equity in the program, this can only be achieved if the choice is provided by practitioners who deliver cervical screening. My PhD undertook a multi-method evaluation of the implementation of the policy change within the first year after it was enacted.
