Publication of the DIRECT checklist

Recently Dr. Jemimah Ride and A/Professor Ilias Goranitis published a new reporting checklist for discrete choice experiments (DCEs) in health. Despite DCEs being widely used in health economics, reporting standards have lagged behind, often leading to challenges in transparency, validity assessment, and translation into practice.

This paper presents a comprehensive reporting checklist, crafted through a scoping review and refined by a Delphi and Best Worst Scaling studies with 45 international DCE experts. The checklist provides authors with clear guidance to ensure sufficient detail is reported in DCE studies, enabling reviewers and readers to better assess study quality.
