Title: Understanding Value in Children’s Mental Healthcare

Supervisors: Prof Kim Dalziel; Prof Nancy Devlin; Prof Harriet Hiscock

Abstract: This PhD sought to address two key challenges currently affecting the evidence for decision-making in child and adolescent mental healthcare. These are, how we: (1) measure health-related quality of life (HRQoL); and (2) define value, in child and adolescent mental healthcare. This research provides new evidence regarding: (i) population-level considerations when measuring child and adolescent HRQoL; (ii) the validity and reliability of common HRQoL instruments; and (iii) the measurement priorities of consumers and carers for evaluations conducted in mental healthcare.
