Welcome Yingying (Cyan) Wang

The Economics of Genomics and Precision Medicine Unit is pleased to welcome Yingying (Cyan) Wang as our newest PhD student.

Cyan is starting a joint PhD at the University of Melbourne and the University of Manchester, supervised by Prof Ilias Goranitis, Prof Zornitza Stark and Prof Philip Clark in Melbourne and Dr Sean Gavan and Prof Katherine Payne in Manchester. Her research focuses on advancing the health economic evaluation of genomic medicine using real-world data, with particular interests in rare diseases and rare cancers.

Prior to her PhD, Cyan worked with the Economics of Global Health and Infectious Diseases Unit, where she contributed to cost-effectiveness analyses of infectious disease control strategies and health technology assessment. She also has experience in pharmaceutical submission evaluations to support reimbursement and policy decision-making in Australia and Singapore. Cyan holds a Master of Public Health (Health Economics and Economic Evaluation stream) from the University of Melbourne.
