Biah Aladawiya awarded STRIDE Early Career Research Grant

We are delighted to share that Biah Aladawiya has been awarded funding through the Early Career Research STRIDE Funding for her project “Exploring preferences for molecular point-of-care testing platforms in rural and remote communities in Australia.”
This two-year project will assess clinician and other healthcare provider preferences for key attributes of molecular point-of-care testing (mPOCT) technologies used in diagnosing infectious diseases in rural and remote communities across Australia. The resulting preference estimates will be used to inform model assumptions around clinician uptake and behavioural responses, strengthening the broader Strep Throat Rapid Assessment and Treatment (START) and Rapid and Applied Research and Translation (RART) economic evaluation plan.
Stronger Investments for Infectious Diseases (STRIDE) is a Centre for Research Excellence funded by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC). Led by Professor Virginia Wiseman (Kirby Institute), STRIDE is a collaboration between nine universities and institutes, and is Australia’s first dynamic hub for applied and policy-relevant research on the economics of infectious disease interventions.
Congratulations to Biah on this achievement and exciting opportunity to contribute to the future of infectious disease research in Australia!
